PA Cup is now reportedly 5-man "fight club-style" i.e. X-ball. They haven't released enough details yet for us to make a decision on the roster size but we are considering various options. To help us in that decision process...who not identified below wants to and can play Sunday, 11 June. It would involve the usual going up on Saturday. We may put in 2 teams if there is enough interest.

everybody in the forums talks about world cup style. This is towards the schedule format...
Expect groups of four...with the top two advancing in knock-out phase games.
So at least three Xball games
If they really want to make it true world cup style then every group will contain one div.1.2.3 teams, I have no clue about the fourth...
It's gonna be a really nice event.. and my last
let's wait for details about the game format...

Rob and Russ were saying yesterday we should bring 12 people for 1 team + pit crew and sideline coaching.
It still needs to be decided how many and who we will take but put your name up if you are available.

Might be difficult Jason as you'll be sharing a room...unless B can book another one or 2 rooms. We have 4 booked and will likely send up 14 or 15 people.

There is no more room at the hotel, I can book at a hotel 10 miles away in Grantham if you need another room(s).
I've booked 2 rooms there, just in case...
I won't go seeing as there are enough players wanting to go.

After much discussion last night we have decided what we are doing for PA Cup.
The advice we received from X-Ball-experienced people was to bring up a squad of 12 so you could have 5 sets of fresh legs on the pitch at all teams. The problem with this approach is that alot of people would not be playing and figuring out the distribution of playing time w/o an impartial non-playing coach would be a nightmare. So....
we have decided to enter 2 seperate teams of 7 players each. Squads are listed below.
This is a gamble but the reward is everyone plays. If the 2 teams are playing at different times there wil be plenty of people to help out and sideline coach. If the 2 squads are playing at the same time, it will be a logistical challenge to say the least. There are only 2 minute turnarounds between points so everyone HAS to have their shit together. I expect everyones kit to be 100% on the day...no excuses.
This will be great fun and I think a tremendous learning experience but it will truly be a team effort and everyone's got to go that extra mile to pull it off well. Please make that extra effort.
As most everyone going will be playing, we are still looking for extra people to pit crew and sideline coach. Dues paying members will have their travel and accomodation paid for.
