With the warm weather upon us we need to start getting in some proper outdoor practices. As in playing against other teams on grass, on full-sized fields. I haven't figured out where yet but put these dates in your diary and clear the day for shooting fools.
Anyone whose watched a NPPL DVD can tell you that sliding into your bunker is a required paintball skill. Unfortunately, we can't do this at TPC because of the playing surface. So what does that mean? You guessed it--sliding practice. Yes we look like a bunch of twats doing superman dives in the middle of Hyde Park on a Thursday evening. Yes, knee sliding into a rucksack may look downright silly (in fact we get spectators every time) but its something that has to be mastered to succeed in the modern game. And it attracts the ladies.
With that in mind we will start up our weekly sliding practice beginning 21 April. Meet at 6:00PM in Hyde Park across from Lancaster Gate. What do you need? knee pads are a necessity (hard plastic Solomon rollerblading ones work great) as are baggy nylon trousers (preferably proper paintball pants) and sliding pants, gloves and elbow/forearm pads are reccomended.
Everyone who played last year can tell you how much this improved our game. It greatly increases your survivability by getting you behind cover quicker. Plus, it looks damn cool when you do it right (not right. It hurts and looks naff) Besides, if you want it make it onto a paintball DVD (other than the blooper section at the end) you have to slide. Like Monday practices you aren't expected to make every single one but this is mandatory--meaning you need a damn good excuse to miss it.

I dont think people in this park will like me, last time I did sliding practice in my backyard and on my first slide I took up about 1/2 inch worth of dirt with my knees, now there's a bald spot where all the flowers are growing
