well felix i am new to this team as well and I hope I am ok by saying this but I emailed tim angers and he told me to come down to the site. (so just PM him on here and talk to him)

I dont know where you live but I live a mission away and I come by national rail and change at waterloo and go to jubilee line and get off at canary wharf.

It usuallyall kicks off at 6pm on a monday night. and we end around 10 I think.

As for the cost I think that there is a thread on here. But I dont want to get kicked off this team so ask Tim Angers about pricing.

Hey do you own your own gun/marker???

Well I hope that you see this in time cos it is sunday night and if you get to speak with Tim or someone from the team you might be able to come down on monday(tomora)

Basically send Tim an email/PM and pop down on a Monday night.  We usually kick things off at about 7pm and train until about 9:30pm.  Don't worry if you don't have any of your own kit as we can source some spares for you to borrow, so long as you let us know what you need etc.

As for actually joining the team, that takes a little bit more commitment, but PM Tim and he'll give you all the info you need.

well thanx guys, soz i got no kit but im looking to buy some... hehe.. how bout how much do training sessions cost?? any clue??
Re: what do you do to join? By: IL-Ed Date: May 22, 2006, 07:25:56 pm
The Monday evening training sessions should cost you between £20-25.

£15 walk on Fee
£5-10 for paint

As the other new recruits will tell you you get to shoot loads of paint and this is a real bargain. Even better is not having to pay the walk on fee if you stick it out and become a full member!

o right sweet and members pay £10 a month right?
Re: what do you do to join? By: IL-Ed Date: May 22, 2006, 08:46:02 pm
Members just pay for paint on training nights which is usually £5-10.

The monthly membership fee is £27 for which you get the free training at TPC, discounts on almost any kit will need, free travel & accomadation if you travel to events to help with admin, every 5th tournie entry fee paid free.

Certainly a bargain!!

Just to add to what Ed said, its 20-25 if you have all your own kit. If you need to rent everything (gun, mask, boilersuit) from TPC it's another 15 quid on top of that.

O right cool. How about the air tanks. How do you fill them up? and how much?
Re: what do you do to join? By: LightsOut Date: May 23, 2006, 02:47:46 pm
The air tanks get filled up by the paintball centre but if you dont have one then you dont need to worry about that.

Just come on down on monday like everyone says at around 6 ish and we will welcome you with open arms.

well metaphorically not actual open arms.

I look forward to seeing another new guy like myself on the team.

Felix,
To answer your original question, there is a sort of probation period for people wanting to join the team. Initially, you are a Recruit. Once you've come to 8 practices the senior members will decide whether to offer you a spot on the team or not. If you become a team member you will get the benefits Ed mentioned above.

Monday practices can have between 4 and 20 people on any given week. We do a combination of drills and playing. Drills may be boring but they are essential and help keep the paint bill low.

Basically, there is competition for playing spots on the team and you have to make the effort in order to play in tourneys. The more committed players will play more than those that aren't.

Rather than poach players from other teams we prefer to recruit at the grass roots level and train them up. we've found that more experienced players can have many bad habits already ingrained so we prefer to teach players right from the start. This also builds better loyalty among our team. In my book, enthusiasm and effort count more than experience.  We have several recruits in the pipeline right now so you should be able to jump right in.

Come down to TPC on a MOnday to meet everyone and see if its for you.

Hey
Im also really interested in paintball, kinda fell in love with it the first time i picked up the gun.
For the kit, you mentioned somewhere that you can get discounts, is this for members, and if you turn up without your own gun how much is renting one.
Really hope to see you guys soon (after exams)

Discounts are only for team members but individul players have quite a bit of second hand kit we are usually selling.

The posts above answer your questions about prices. You can also check out the Recruitment Information post in the Knowledge Base by clicking on the link in the Navigation Board at the top left of the screen.
